Nothing
Nothing is a young London-based company founded by one of OnePlus's co-founders, and it is the smallest manufacturer on this site by volume. It is easy to recognise: semi-transparent backs, a distinctive dot-matrix design language, and the Glyph interface — patterned LED strips on the rear that light up for calls, notifications, timers, and charging status. On later models that idea has evolved into a small rear display rather than light strips.
The range is short. The numbered Phone (1), (2), (3) is the flagship line. The (a) suffix marks the cheaper variant of a generation, and Nothing's (a) models have generally been the better value proposition of the two. CMF is a separate sub-brand for budget phones and accessories. Note the parentheses in the official naming; we catalogue them under the cleaner slug shown in the URL.
Nothing OS is the Android layer and is the other half of the brand's appeal. It is close to stock Android with a consistent monochrome visual theme and comparatively little preinstalled software, which makes it one of the cleaner Android builds available from a non-Google manufacturer. Update commitments are published per model and have improved with each generation, but they do not match Google's or Samsung's flagship policies, and Nothing is a small company — long-term support is a reasonable thing to weigh.
On hardware, Nothing generally targets upper-mid rather than absolute flagship. Chipsets are often the second-tier Snapdragon part rather than the top one, and USB ports on some models have run at USB 2.0 speeds, which is slow if you offload large amounts of video by cable. Charging sits in the middle of the field. None of that is hidden — it is visible on the table — but it does mean the phones compete on design and software rather than on winning spec comparisons.
Availability is narrower than the larger brands. Nothing sells directly and through a limited set of retailers, and its presence in the United States has at times been handled through beta or open-sale programmes rather than conventional carrier distribution. Check the channel in your country, because it affects warranty service as much as price.
We document chipset, charging, IP rating, and camera setup on each model page for exactly that reason: the design is the reason people look, and the hardware is what they will actually live with. AllMobileSpecs is not affiliated with Nothing and does not sell its products.
